Director of the Tourist Organization of Serbia, Marija Labović, attended the celebration of the European Tourism Day in Brussels, organized by European Travel Commission (ETC).

This event was an important opportunity to exchange views on the current directions of development of the European Union’s tourism policies, as well as on the priorities within the upcoming EU Strategy for Sustainable Tourism.
As part of the program, as a member of the Board of Directors of the European Tourism Commission, Marija Labovic attended the opening of the exhibition “Tourism for Europe, Europe for Tourism”, which in a symbolic and inspiring way presents the richness, diversity and common values of European tourism.
Serbia is presented at the exhibition through an example of regenerative tourism practice – the production of donkey milk in the Zasavica Special Nature Reserve, as a model of sustainable tourism that connects nature conservation, the local community and authentic experiences.
In addition to the exhibition, the evening in Brussels was marked by important meetings. The Director of the Tourist Organization of Serbia had a constructive conversation with the European Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, about the potentials of Serbia’s tourism and the importance of EXPO 2027 Belgrade.
The exchange of experiences with European counterparts once again confirmed the importance of cooperation and joint action in order to strengthen sustainable and competitive tourism in Europe.
