“The Climate Adaptation Gap in Tourism: From Risk to Resilience” as part of the official ITB Convention Programme.

Today at ITB Berlin, the Director of the National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro and Vice President of the European Travel Commission (ETC), PhD Ana Tripkovic Markovic, participated in the panel “The Climate Adaptation Gap in Tourism: From Risk to Resilience” as part of the official ITB Convention Programme.
The panel gathered representatives of international tourism organisations, academia and industry experts to discuss how destinations can move from climate awareness to concrete and measurable action.
During the discussion, it was emphasized that climate action should not be viewed as a cost to tourism, but as an investment in resilience that protects destinations, infrastructure, and the long-term sustainability of the tourism economy.

The European Travel Commission, of which Montenegro is an active member and where Ana Tripković Marković serves as Vice President, is advancing a strong climate action agenda through ETC’s Climate Action Plan, supporting destinations in embedding climate resilience into tourism development.
