Sustainability

Why SUSTAINABILITY Matters in Tourism Advertising

Tourism has a profound impact on the planet. By embracing sustainable production and promoting responsible tourism, we can inspire travelers and industry leaders to make a positive difference.

Be a part of the change. Create. Inspire. Sustain.

Goals

Co-organised by CIFFT and Normmal, with the participation of UN Tourism, the GreenWorking Awards recognise excellence in sustainable tourism communication and celebrate projects that demonstrate how the tourism industry can contribute to a more sustainable future.

There are three award categories:

  • Production Award – recognising sustainable production practices, such as the use of renewable energy, eco-friendly logistics, waste reduction and other responsible production measures.
  • Message Award – recognising impactful sustainability messaging aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Global Award – recognising campaigns that combine strong sustainable production practices with impactful sustainability messaging.

A few key points that make the awards particularly easy to introduce to potential participants:

Participation is completely free of charge.

Organisations can submit multiple entries across different categories.

The awards are open to both public and private sector organisations, including tourism boards, DMOs, hotels, tour operators, creative agencies, NGOs and other tourism-related organisations.

Videos published after January 1, 2024 are eligible.

The submission deadline is September 21, 2026.

Winners will be announced at the World Tourism Film Awards.

the official Entry Kit, which includes the full category descriptions, eligibility requirements, evaluation criteria and submission process. Please feel free to share it directly with any contacts who may be interested.

As participation is free, we see the GreenWorking Awards as a great opportunity to engage organisations that may not yet be ready to participate in the full CIFFT Circuit, while introducing them to CIFFT and opening the door to future collaboration.

If you have any questions or would like me to join a call with any of your contacts to present the awards and explain the submission process, I would be very happy to help.

Thank you for your support, and I look forward to seeing the GreenWorking Awards reach organisations in your network.
