Once again, as every year, FITUR arrives

Once again, as every year, FITUR arrives
Sergio Abreu always told me that in Uruguay the year began with the last pedal stroke of the cycling tour, I can guarantee you that in Spain, the year begins with the opening of FITUR.
FITUR is not only the most important tourism fair in the world and the gateway to Latin America, as WTM in London and ITB Berlin are for Asia, but in this post-pandemic Madrid, which has become the most attractive city in Europe, the week that FITUR is held makes a big difference.
In addition to tourists from all corners of the world, there are 255,000 tourism professionals who, after working ten hours at the fair, head out from the early hours of the night to enjoy the capital and each year in increasing numbers discover the attractions of the rest of the Community of Madrid.
As the starting bell for tourism worldwide, it is not limited to the fair or its many activities; it is the perfect excuse for holding parallel events on the two days prior to its inauguration, such as the Exceltur forums, CIMET of the Nexo Group, Hotusa Explora, and the annual presentation of ICTE awards.
The numbers are compelling: 10,000 companies, 161 countries/regions, 111 official representations, 9 pavilions at the fairgrounds with an impact for Madrid of 455 million euros.
We are eagerly anticipating the big week, not only for everything we have highlighted, but most importantly: “the FITUR corridors” where we will meet old and new friends from the great tourism family.
