Ana Catalina Hernandez : At the 2nd Regional Conference on the Empowerment of Women in Tourism in Latin America and the Caribbean in UN Tourism, one of the participants shared a phrase that summarizes the challenge and opportunity of the moment: “Alone we are a drop of water in the ocean, but together we can be a tsunami.”
Being in hashtag#ElSalvador, talking to women who lead the industry (thank you Minister Morena Valdez ) reinforced something essential to me: the hashtag#turismo needs more spaces that turn conversation into collaboration, and collaboration into results.
More than 52% of the professionals in the sector in the region are hashtag#mujeres. That is not just a fact, it is a huge base of talent, criteria and leadership that is driving the transformation of the industry from multiple fronts.
