the ITB shows once again how strong our network in Düsseldorf is.

Jens Ihsen : Managing Director @ Visit Düsseldorf

Yesterday Berlin, today Düsseldorf – two dates, a strong signal for Düsseldorf as a tourism location.
Yesterday at ITB Berlin, I had the opportunity to talk to Hendrik Wüst, Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia, about the latest developments in Düsseldorf’s tourism. I was particularly pleased to hear about our ITB Health Tourism Award, which underlines Düsseldorf’s growing importance in health tourism. Also present was Pradeep Alex Pinakatt from Düsseldorf Airport – an important partner for the international connection of our destination.
And already today, together with Mayor Dr. Stephan Keller, we were able to present the tourism figures for 2025 – with a very pleasing result:
📈 5.67 million overnight stays in the post-EURO year
📈 +2.2% growth in overnight stays
📈 3.45 million arrivals (+3.8%)
This makes Düsseldorf one of the fastest-growing destinations in the comparison field and is above both the state trend NRW (+1.7%) and the national trend (+0.3%).
The fact that we were able to classify this positive development together directly after the ITB shows once again how strong our network in Düsseldorf is. Many thanks for the professional perspective and support to:
Marius J. Berlemann Berlemann (Managing Director Messe Düsseldorf )
Dr. Stephan Keller (Lord Mayor of the Landeshauptstadt Düsseldorf )
Marion Hörsken (Managing Director Industry Support IHK Düsseldorf )
Constanze Neuhörl (General Manager Maritim Hotel Düsseldorf )
Timo Schmitz (Board Member DEHOGA Nordrhein e.V. North Rhine & Spokesperson for the Hotels Section)
Together, we are working to further strengthen Düsseldorf as an international, liveable and sustainable destination.
