Work together to build the upcoming EU Sustainable Tourism Strategy.

Fabrizio Angelo Orlando : Last week I had the honour of being on stage at the European Tourism Day, hosted by the European Commission. When on stage, I shared what we do at Tripadvisor to support tourism dispersion, how we sit at the intersection of AI and trust, ensuring destinations are discovered through authentic, people-powered insights, how experiences are reshaping the way in which people travel and explore the world – and how Viator helps them.

I also had the privilege of being invited by Commissioner Apostolos Tzitzikostas at the First High-Level Strategic Dialogue on the EU Sustainable Tourism Strategy. During the meeting, we discussed how to support the growth and the competitiveness of the European tourism industry, and I shared my perspective on how platforms and European institutions can work together. At Tripadvisor we support a fair digital market, strong enforcement of competition rules and, especially, the need of address regulatory complexities by simplifying regulations and reducing administrative burdens for platforms and SMEs.
