Prime Minister of Samoa Laaulialemalietoa Leuatea Polataivao Fosi Schmidt met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Samoa His Excellency Mr. Luis Alfonso Sánchez-Vellisco Sánchez.
The Prime Minister and His Excellency the Ambassador spoke of ways that Samoa and Spain can work together on in the future such as sustainable tourism, sports in particular rugby, and working together to put an end to illegal drugs.
His Excellency is based in Wellington, New Zealand.
Samoa and Spain established diplomatic relations in November 1980 and have continued to enjoy cordial and friendly relations founded on mutual respect, multilateral cooperation, and shared commitments to sustainable development and climate action.
