The Tourism Centre of Portugal congratulates all the restaurants in the region that have integrated or renewed their presence in the selection of the Michelin Guide, announced last night at a ceremony held at the Savoy Palace hotel, in Funchal. The Tourism Centre of Portugal was represented by its president, Rui Ventura, and by Jorge Loureiro, president of the Marketing Council.
The distinction of these restaurants reinforces the gastronomic prestige of the Center of Portugal and gains even greater significance at a special moment: our region will host in 2027 the next Michelin Portugal Guide Gala, which will be held in Coimbra, which puts the region at the center of international gastronomy!
Mesa15, in Leiria, led by Czech chef Petr Kiss, is one of two new restaurants in the country distinguished with the Bib Gourmand rating, which recognizes establishments with high-quality cuisine at moderate prices.
Among the new entries in the list of restaurants recommended by the Michelin Guide are also DeRaiz, Rebordinho, Viseu (chef Nuno Fonte), Essences Lousã (chef Ferran Arnau), Mercantel, Aveiro (chef Cristiano Barata) and the Refeitro, Coimbra (chef João França).
The Tourism Centre of Portugal equally congratulates, in a very special way, all the restaurants in the region that maintain their presence in the prestigious selection of the Michelin Guide, a reflection of the high quality of products, gastronomic creativity and service excellence.
The highlight goes, once again, to the Mesa de Lemos, in Silgueiros, Viseu, led by chef Diogo Rocha, who confirmed the Michelin Star and the Green Star, a distinction that recognizes the commitment to sustainability.
