Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at the opening ceremony of Posidonia 2026,

It was with great pleasure that I attended the opening ceremony of the international shipping exhibition “Posidonia 2026”. –Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis

Together with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at the opening ceremony of Posidonia 2026, one of the world’s most important maritime exhibitions in Athens,

For decades, Posidonia has been a landmark event for the global shipping industry and a powerful reminder that Greece remains a leading maritime nation.

Greece is the “Silicon Valley” of global shipping. Yet, in a period of growing geopolitical tensions and intensifying international competition, freedom of navigation cannot be taken for granted. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical maritime corridors. We cannot accept restrictions on passage, de facto transit fees, or coercive practices in international waters.

Without ships and ports, there is no competitive Europe. That is why protecting international shipping routes and upholding international law must remain non-negotiable priorities.
