Maldivian signs deal with Galaxy Aviation Services Bangladesh

DHAKA, Feb 24, 2026: Maldivian Airlines has signed an agreement with Galaxy Aviation Services to resume its direct Dhaka–Malé flights from March 12, reinforcing air connectivity between the two friendly South Asian nations.

The agreement was signed signed by  Maldivian Managing Director Mohamed Ibrahim Iyas and President and Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Bangladesh Group Ahmed Yusuf Walid at a city hotel on Monday evening. The Galaxy Aviation Services is the General Sales Agent of Maldivian airlines in Bangaldesh.

The resumption of the Dhaka–Malé–Dhaka route is expected to enhance passenger movement, particularly for Bangladeshi expatriates working in the Maldives, and facilitate smoother bilateral travel.

Ambassador of the Maldives to Bangladesh Shiuneen Rasheed, Director of Ground Operations Ahmed Ibrahim and General Manager (International Commercial) Mohamed Saffah were present at the signing ceremony.

Initially, the airline will operate two weekly flights on Sundays and Thursdays. Return fares will start from US$399, approximately Tk 47,880.

Flights are scheduled to land in Dhaka in the early morning, enabling passengers to connect conveniently with onward international services.

According to airline authorities, the service has been relaunched in response to growing demand from Bangladeshi nationals in the Maldives, ahead of the post-Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr travel rush.

Passengers will be entitled to a 30-kilogram baggage allowance and complimentary onboard meals. Tickets are available through the airline’s official website, mobile application and call centre.
