Congratulations to Gavin Smith on being inducted into the CLIA in Australasia Hall of Fame.
Gavin has been a respected and influential figure in our cruise community for many years. His leadership, insight and unwavering support for CLIA in Australasia, the travel trade and the broader cruise community have played an important role in strengthening and advancing our industry across the region. Throughout his career he has held both local and international leadership roles, including heading the regional offices of two major cruise line brands, and he has also generously served the industry as Chair of CLIA in Australasia | Cruise Lines International Association’s regional Executive Committee on multiple occasions.
It was a real pleasure to recognise Gavin at the 23rd Annual CLIA Australasia Cruise Industry Awards in Sydney, surrounded by so many colleagues and friends from across the cruise community.

The 23rd Cruise Industry Awards took place on Saturday night at International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney, bringing together almost 600 guests for the largest celebration of its kind in the Australasian cruise industry.
A total of 15 awards were presented from a record number of nominations, recognising the outstanding travel advisors, agencies and industry partners who continue to drive the growth and success of cruising across Australia and New Zealand.
The evening also saw Gavin Smith inducted into the CLIA Australasia Hall of Fame, recognising his long-standing contribution to the cruise industry and support of the travel trade.
From inspiring award presentations to incredible performances that brought this year’s Greatest Show theme to life, the evening was a fantastic celebration of the passion, professionalism and talent that defines our cruise community.
